Welcome to the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI). The IOI is the premier worldwide high school computer programming competition.
The first IOI was proposed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and is one of six academic Olympiads for high school students throughout the world (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy). It was held in Bulgaria in 1989.
The goals of the IOI are to bring together, challenge, and give recognition to young students from around the world who are the most talented in informatics (computer programming), and to foster friendship among these students from diverse cultures.
The complete description of the IOI can be found in the Official Regulations.
