TAIWAN BRINGS HOME MEDALS FROM 16TH INFORMATICS OLYMPIAD

A Taiwan delegation won two silver medals and two bronzes at the 16th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2004) held in Athens Sept. 11-18, delegation head He Jung-kui said Friday.
Among the Taiwan contestants, Chen Tien-jen from the Affiliated Senior High School of National Taiwan Normal University and Lee Hsih-shieh from Chien Kuo High School in Taipei won silver medals, while Lin Chun-ta from National Tainan First Senior High School and Chen I from Chien Kuo High School won bronze.
After taking part in the IOI 2004, the Taiwan delegation will visit Athens for an educational and cultural tour. They are scheduled to return home Sept. 24. The IOI 2004 was held to bring together outstanding students from around the world by creating an arena for them to share scientific and cultural experiences. (By Nick Huang)
