A Gold and three Silver medals decorated Bulgarian team of informatics during the IT Olympic event held in Athens.

With a total of 445 out of 600 possible Vladimir Nedev, studying in Varna's Mathematics Gymnasium, won the first place, followed by his maths mates Rangel Dokov from Plovdiv, Valentin Mikhov from Varna and Svetoslav Kolev from Russe who took the three silvers.

The prestigious maths event gathered 320 children from 20 countries, who sported the best of maths to win a total of 160 medals distributed in a ration 1:2:3 as of gold, silver and bronze medallists.

Bulgarian maths team recorded a better performance than last year when the country occupied seventh place. This year Bulgaria shares the 5-6 rank together with Iran.
